Big Ben
The Largest Four Chiming Clock of the WorldBig Ben is one of the important landmarks of London. It is the name that has been given to the great bell of the clock located near the Westminster Palace. The name is also sometimes used for the clock or even the entire tower too. Big Ben stands as the largest when it comes to a four-face chiming clock. Again, it holds the third position in the list of free-standing clock tower of the world. Circle, District and Jubilee lines of Westminster are the nearest London Underground Station to the Big Ben. The sight of Big Ben at night hours is spectacular with all the four clock faces being illuminated. It also gives you an indication when the parliament is in session, as there is a light shining above its clock face. Even though it is not open to the general mass, you can arrange an access by communicating with the local MP. On May 2009, the clock completed 150 years and a number of events took place for celebrating the same.
